The shot that started it all

This is Harry my 5 year old Cavapoo, he is my mate, fun loving well behaved - most of the time and very relaxed. He loves to go everywhere with us and we love taking him, always ready to have fusses from passersby.

Whilst on our regular walks I decided to take my camera and fast lens with the intent of getting a few candid images of him.  I found a log in our local woods and got Harry to stand and pose for a moment.  Harry is pretty good at following commands and generally works for treats, so winner all around.

After framing Harry in camera I took the shot and bam it hit me, I was in love with what I had taken.  Granted I’m always going to be bias to my own dog.  But what a feeling when you see an awesome shot, I fell I love with the way the background blurred away, the colours and the intense detail of Harry.  I was hooked!

Knowing I was about to change my profession and enter into the realms of being a professional photographer already capturing precious moments at weddings I knew wanted to do as well, something I know I would love and that’s capturing special moments of families and their pets.

The one image started it all.
